Research & Planning Consultants, LP has an immediate full-time opening for a Records Librarian. This person will support our consultants by processing documents and data for use in personal injury and commercial litigation and in regulatory filings. This is a non-exempt position and some overtime will be required to meet project deadlines. The work will normally be done from our Austin office for the first year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • OCR, organize and index documents and data received from clients, attorneys and generated by RPC staff
  • Track receipt of documents and data requested from clients.
  • Write clear, concise and persuasive summaries of data and documents for use in reports and filings
  • Maintain on-going list of documents received and advise consultants on any missing or incomplete documents
  • Organize reports and regulatory filings for both digital and hard-copy submission
  • Prepare electronic project file for production to client
  • Prepare electronic or paper documentation backing up reports for use by consultants in deposition and trial testimony
  • Maintain accurate tracking on all calendars and project management tools for due dates and assigned staff.
  • Set up project files for new cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Good writing and proofreading skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work quickly to meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe
  • Familiar with creating PDF documents
  • Typing speed at least 45 wpm with accuracy
  • Ability to take responsibility for a task, ask questions and seek help as necessary
  • Experience with medical records a plus

Location and hours: The work location for this job is RPC’s offices at 6300 La Calma Drive, Austin, Texas 78752. The person must be available for calls and meetings between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Central Time. Some evening and weekend work is required to meet project deadlines.

Education required: Bachelor’s degree. Degree in library science or related field is a plus.

Experience: Experience in records management, document control, enterprise knowledge, data management, technical writing, cataloging or electronic records management. This may include work in a library or other environment, and may include experience receiving, organizing, summarizing and managing a variety of document and data types. Work experience as a medical records librarian or legal librarian is a plus. Experience working in a deadline-driven environment is a plus.

Starting salary: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Position is eligible for annual discretionary bonus.
