Research & Planning Consultants, LP, has an immediate opening for an entry-level economic research assistant. This person will assist RPC consultants with data analysis and data presentation in expert reports for use in commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, and regulatory proceedings.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. We pay competitive salaries with a potential annual bonus based on the performance of the consultant and the firm. Duties and responsibilities:
- Provides support to consultants for RPC reports.
- As assigned, assists economic and financial consultants with data analysis and data presentation. Coordinates with contacts through the client to obtain needed information. Does any research as necessary, determining and obtaining appropriate sources.
- As requested, assists other RPC consultants in completing their projects within deadlines. This assistance may be work outside of data entry and analysis, such as cold read of reports written by others, research and summary of findings, compiling data, etc.
- Other duties and assistance as required.
Education and Certifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, Mathematics, or Finance
Experience and Skills required:
- Strong quantitative skills.
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to enter data with speed and accuracy
- Research and writing skills
- The ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Experience working with health care data and health plans is very helpful.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel
- Experience using SQL, STATA and ArcGIS is a plus
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to ask questions, seek help as necessary, and meet all deadlines
- the ability to work with attorneys, clinicians, and other RPC consultants
Location and hours: This position is located in RPC’s office in Austin, Texas. The person must be available for calls and meetings between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Central Time. Some evening and weekend work is required to meet project deadlines.
