Dr. Sam Absher is an economist with RPC providing expert testimony, economic analysis, affidavits, and expert reports on economic damages in personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination, and commercial litigation cases. He prepares expert reports and testimony on loss of earning capacity, loss of support, loss of household services, and the present value of life care plans. He also evaluates the reasonable value of past and future health services.
Before joining RPC, Dr. Absher was an Associate Economist at RAND, where he managed and conducted large-scale research projects for government and military clients. His work included complex statistical and econometric analysis of both public and proprietary data to inform policy decisions.
Dr. Absher’s academic background includes extensive research in applied microeconomics and political economy. As a postdoctoral researcher, he conducted independent economic research on the political and institutional determinants of economic growth. His doctoral research at the University of Oklahoma examined the economic and policy impacts of institutional reform and governance in developing countries.
In addition to his research background, Dr. Absher served on the faculty of the RAND School of Public Policy, where he taught graduate-level courses in microeconomic theory, cost-benefit analysis, and economic systems. He also taught undergraduate courses in statistics and introductory economics at the University of Oklahoma.
