Melissa Lottinger is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with RPC with more than 25 years of experience in medical billing, coding, claims and revenue cycle management. She provides expert analysis of medical records, bills, and coding in personal injury and commercial litigation. She works with RPC’s economists and life care planners to evaluate the reasonable value of past medical expenses, the current costs of life care plans, and disputed charges in provider-insurer payment disputes.
She has expertise in coding a wide range of practitioner, facility, and other bills. She has a strong background in Medicare billing and cardiology coding.
Before joining RPC, Melissa served several years as a Cardiology Certified Coder and Biller at a cardiovascular practice, where she oversaw billing staff, managed coding for multiple physicians and midlevel providers, and educated clinicians on compliance with CMS requirements. She also has extensive experience in revenue cycle restructuring, resolving accounts receivable backlogs, denial management(including the appeal process for all insurance carriers), hospital billing, Medicare and commercial claims submissions and rejections, insurance verification, and electronic claims systems.
