Objective:
For attorneys practicing in Texas or Louisiana, handling personal injury cases under the laws of the other state may involve navigating some significant differences in the way damages are rendered. This webinar explores those differences with the goal of answering these questions:
- What are the differences in how reasonable charges and reasonable value in past and future medical expenses are calculated?
- What are the differences in restrictions on the ability of defense experts to interview the plaintiff and administer vocational tests?
- How do differences in each state’s laws affect the analysis of vocational capacity and loss of earning capacity?
- What are the differences in calculation of discounted present value and in calculation of general and punitive damages?
